Bokmässan 2026

The 2026 themes are Québec, folk education, and games. Folk education is arranged in collaboration with the Council for Folk Education, the Swedish Academy, the University of Gothenburg, Folkuniversitetet, and the Swedish Bible Society. Games are arranged with support from Göteborg & Co. This year's Guest of Honour is Québec - around twenty titles from the province are already being prepared for translation into Swedish.

Bokmässan in Gothenburg is the Nordic region's largest cultural event and one of Europe's biggest book fairs, attracting over 80,000 visitors, 800 exhibitors, and 300 seminars. The fair welcomes both industry professionals and the general public.

Each year, the fair floor's stages and booths host thousands of programme items, and the year's Guest of Honour shapes the fair's offerings with literature, food, and culture.
