An Unexpected Visit in Viking Times — Göteborgs stadsmuseum, Gothenburg

Two colourful figures make an unexpected visit to Gothenburg City Museum. They move playfully through the museum's surroundings, accompanied by a philosophical narrator's voice and sounds from nature, animals and machines - sounds that may be familiar or entirely new to children. Through humour, form and sound, the doors to the unexpected open wide.

An Unexpected Visit is a site-specific performance for children (recommended age 3-9 years), created by FiaskoKompaniet - a Swedish-Norwegian performance group led by Maria Strand Renberg and Livia Hiselius. The group works with experimental puppet theatre and soundscapes, addressing a mixed audience. After the performance (20 min), those who wish can participate in a workshop (30 min) where they play with forms, dance and physical theatre exercises.

The performance is included in the museum's admission ticket. Places are limited - book a spot for yourself and your child via the link. Arrive at least 5 minutes before start; if you're late, your place will be released to others in the queue. Unbooked places are released until the performance begins. Cancellations are made via bokningar.stadsmuseet@kultur.goteborg.se.

If you need a sign language interpreter, contact stadsmuseum@kultur.goteborg.se at least 14 days in advance and the museum will arrange one.
