Guided tour
Entréhallen Nybroplan, Stockholm
How were the magnificent ceiling paintings in the Dramaten building created? What is an iron curtain? And why does every actor have a wooden copy of their head at the theatre?
An expert guide takes you through the building and shares stories about its architecture, visual art, and the creative vision behind the theatre - with anecdotes from both past and present. You will see the spaces where Ingrid Bergman and Greta Garbo studied, and where new history is made every day. The building opened in 1908 and is presented on theatre's own terms, adapted to what happens in the building and on the different stages - which gives each tour its own character.
The tour involves several staircases, but all spaces are accessible by lift. If you use a wheelchair or walker, contact kundservice@dramaten.se well in advance so they can accommodate your needs.
