Inferno — Sagateatern, Linköping

August Strindberg's Inferno is set in France, where he pursues alchemical experiments and suffers from hallucinations, paranoia, and nightmares. His pillow takes on human forms, he believes he is being persecuted and hears knocking in the walls - the villagers call him mad. Meanwhile, a small daughter waits for her father in another country.

Strindberg's Intima Teater's production explores the questions: where is the boundary between fantasy and reality, and who can comfort when fear is as great in an adult as in a child? Through magic, clowning, and film, Strindberg's account of creative crisis and the search for new forms comes to life.
