Big Bang!

Journalist Bang had a gift for being at the pivotal moments of world history - from front lines and corridors of power to encounters with Gandhi, Hitler, and Elin Wägner. Big Bang! is a playful and humorous production about her struggle, courage, and sharp pen.

The story begins in 1956, when Bang sits imprisoned for a month on Långholmen, convicted of refusing civil defence service. From there, the narrative interweaves with flashbacks: the Berlin Olympics in 1936, the pacifist awakening during the Spanish Civil War, doubts during the Finnish Winter War of 1939-40, a meeting with Gandhi before India's independence, and finally Elin Wägner's death in 1949 - the moment that makes Bang a committed pacifist.

The production is accessible yet does not shy away from the gravity of her experiences of war and injustice. It also draws parallels to today's world.
