Satoshi Kon (1963-2010) was a Japanese animation director whose films explore the blurry line between reality and illusion. His debut feature Perfect Blue (1997) established his signature style, later developed in Millennium Actress and Paprika. He is widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices in anime cinema.
