Antoine Fuqua (born May 30, 1965, Pittsburgh, PA) is an American film director and producer who built his reputation in the action and thriller genres. He started out directing music videos for artists like Prince, Toni Braxton and Coolio before making his feature debut with The Replacement Killers (1998). His crime thriller Training Day (2001) earned Denzel Washington an Academy Award for Best Actor, and the two have since collaborated five more times - most recently on The Equalizer 3 (2023). In 2026 his Michael Jackson biopic Michael crossed $1 billion at the global box office, becoming the highest-grossing music biopic ever made.
