Anton Ewald (born 7 August 1993 in Stockholm) is a Swedish singer, dancer and actor who first made his name as a background dancer and choreographer at Melodifestivalen before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist with 'Begging' at Melodifestivalen 2013, where he finished fourth in the final. He has since built a parallel career in musical theatre, playing Santiago in the Swedish premiere of Moulin Rouge! The Musical (Chinateatern, Stockholm, 2023-2024) and continuing the role at Rondo in Gothenburg, where he is also set to play Danny in Grease The Musical from autumn 2026.
Anton Ewald was announced as Danny in Grease The Musical at Rondo, Gothenburg, opening 25 September 2026 and running until 31 January 2027.
The Grease production at Rondo is presented by 2Entertain and Vicky Nöjesproduktion, with Lovisa Bengtsson playing Sandy opposite Ewald's Danny.
Ewald confirmed he was still performing as Santiago in Moulin Rouge! The Musical at Rondo when the Grease casting was announced in March 2026.
Ewald played Santiago in the Swedish premiere of Moulin Rouge! The Musical at Chinateatern in Stockholm, a run that attracted over 230,000 guests across Stockholm and Gothenburg.
