Antonio Banderas (born José Antonio Domínguez Banderas, 10 August 1960, Málaga) is a Spanish actor, singer and theatre director who rose to international fame through collaborations with Pedro Almodóvar before conquering Hollywood with films such as The Mask of Zorro and the Shrek franchise. Beyond the screen, he founded Teatro del Soho CaixaBank in Málaga, where he has produced and directed a string of Spanish-language musicals. His career has earned him a Cannes Film Festival award, a European Film Award, a Drama Desk Award, a Latin Grammy President's Award, and nominations for the Oscar, Tony and Golden Globe.
