About

Assemblage 23 is the solo electronic project of Tom Shear, founded in the late 1980s and based in the United States. Operating in the space between EBM, futurepop and synthpop, Shear writes, records and produces everything himself, with a live band joining him on stage. The 2001 album Failure cemented the project's international standing, and a long partnership with Metropolis Records has kept Assemblage 23 at the forefront of the darkwave scene for over two decades.
