At The Gates is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, formed in 1990. Their 1995 album "Slaughter of the Soul" is widely regarded as a landmark record that shaped the sound of modern metal. The band split in 1996, reunited in 2007, and has remained active since.
