August Burns Red is an American metalcore band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, formed in 2003. The five-piece - vocalist Jake Luhrs, guitarists JB Brubaker and Brent Rambler, bassist Dustin Davidson, and drummer Matt Greiner - has kept the same lineup since 2006. Known for technically demanding guitar work and shifting time signatures, the band broke through with Messengers (2007) and has since earned two Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance, in 2016 and 2018.
August Burns Red released their eleventh studio album Season of Surrender on June 5, 2026, through Fearless Records.
The band released the single 'Sonic Salvation' featuring Jamie Hails of Polaris, the third single from Season of Surrender.
August Burns Red returned to Fearless Records and released the first Season of Surrender single, 'Behemoth'.
The band's annual Christmas Burns Red festival took place December 12-13 in Lancaster, PA, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Thrill Seeker and the 10th anniversary of Found in Far Away Places.
