About

Babblarna (The Babblers) is a Swedish children's concept created by Anneli Tisell and published by Hatten Förlag, built around six colourful characters - Babba, Bibbi, Bobbo, Dadda, Diddi and Doddo - who each speak a made-up language based on the sounds in their own name. Rooted in professor Irene Johansson's Karlstad Model for speech and language development, the franchise spans books, a TV series, music and live musicals, and has sold over one million copies in Sweden alone. By 2025 the YouTube channel had passed 534,000 subscribers and total streams across platforms exceeded one billion, making it Sweden's best-selling children's language series.
