Broder John is the stage name of Johan Bäckström (born 1990), a rapper, producer and label owner from Umeå in northern Sweden. He co-founded the Hoopdiggas collective and label, runs the Powerpose FM festival, and in 2021 became the first artist to perform in Swedish on COLORSxSTUDIOS. His third album Följ inte mig (2024), produced by Daniel Ögren of Dina Ögon, earned him a P3 Guld nomination for Album of the Year.
Broder John was nominated for Album of the Year at P3 Guld 2025 (ceremony held 22 January 2025 at Cirkus, Stockholm) for Följ inte mig - his first-ever P3 Guld nomination.
Third album Följ inte mig was released in September 2024, with production by Daniel Ögren of Dina Ögon on the Hoopdiggas Recordings label.
Broder John added an extra Stockholm night at Fasching to his Följ inte mig tour after selling out the initial dates.
Broder John was featured on Dina Ögon's single "Mellan Slagen", released as a 7-inch 45 rpm single from the Atlantis sessions.
