Carmen is an opera by Georges Bizet, first performed in Paris in 1875. Set in Seville, it follows the free-spirited cigarette factory worker Carmen and the soldier Don José. The score includes some of the most recognizable melodies in opera, among them the Habanera and the Toreador Song.
