Colin Firth (born 10 September 1960) is an English actor and producer whose career spans stage, film and television. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The King's Speech (2010) and holds two BAFTAs, a Golden Globe and a Volpi Cup among his honours; in 2011 he was appointed CBE for services to drama. His films have grossed more than $4 billion across over 50 releases worldwide.
Firth appears in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day, released theatrically in the US on 12 June 2026, where he plays the head of a shadowy government agency.
Firth filmed Tom Ford's adaptation of Anne Rice's novel Cry to Heaven in Rome from January to March 2026, alongside Adele in her film acting debut.
Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock, in which Firth plays Sir Bucephalus Hodge, launched in March 2026.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy was released in February 2025, with Firth reprising his role as Mark Darcy in flashback and daydream sequences after the character dies offscreen.
Firth starred in the Peacock drama series Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, premiering 2 January 2025, playing Dr. Jim Swire whose daughter was killed in the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 bombing.
