Danny Grissett

Danny Grissett (born 1975, Los Angeles) is an American jazz pianist, keyboardist, and composer who has been a fixture on the international jazz scene for over two decades. He studied at the Thelonious Monk Institute under Barry Harris, Herbie Hancock, and Kenny Barron, and has been a core member of trumpeter Tom Harrell's band since 2005. Recording for Criss Cross and Savant Records, he leads his own trio while also serving as a professor at JAM Music Lab University in Vienna, where he now lives.
Grissett released Travelogue on Savant Records (May 30, 2025), his first trio album in nearly a decade, featuring drummer Bill Stewart and bassist Vicente Archer.
Travelogue received strong critical notices, with reviewers at All About Jazz, The Jazz Word, and Jazz Weekly praising its melodic clarity and expressive trio interplay.
All About Jazz published a detailed review of Travelogue, noting Grissett's evocative themes and the trio's highly interactive performances.
Grissett continues as a professor at JAM Music Lab University in Vienna, where he has been based after leaving New York.
