David Binney

About

David Binney (born August 2, 1961, Miami) is an American alto saxophonist, composer and producer based in Los Angeles. He has led or co-led over 25 albums and appeared as a sideman on more than 400 others, working across post-bop, electro-acoustic fusion and ambient electronics. A three-time winner of the DownBeat Critics' Poll for alto saxophone, he is also known as the creative force behind the ensemble that recorded David Bowie's final album, Blackstar.
