Franska Trion is a Swedish trio formed in Gothenburg in 2002 by singer and pianist Matti Ollikainen, whose Finnish-Tornedalian roots colour both his voice and his tragicomic lyrics. The band - completed by Viktor Turegård on double bass and Christopher Cantillo on drums - plays a genre-defying mix of rock, blues and jazz, and has built a devoted cult following across Sweden and the Nordic countries through relentless touring and a steady stream of albums, now numbering fourteen. They served as house band on SVT's long-running quiz show På spåret, which brought them to a wider national audience.
Franska Trion performed sold-out Christmas concerts in December 2025, including a show at Skövde Kulturhus on 10 December.
Franska Trion appeared on Stefan Sundström's album 'nu var det 2014', released 9 April 2025.
The band released their fourteenth album 'Nya kulor' on 15 March 2024, simultaneously with Matti Ollikainen's novel 'Silverkulor i svart natt'.
