Geoff Tate, frontman of Queensrÿche, takes the stage at Arbis in Norrköping.
Geoff Tate is an American singer and songwriter best known as the founding frontman of progressive metal band Queensrÿche, which he led from 1982 to 2012. His powerful tenor voice drove landmark albums such as Operation: Mindcrime (1988) and Empire (1990), helping the band sell over 20 million records worldwide and earn multiple Grammy nominations. After a legal split from Queensrÿche in 2014, Tate has continued under the Operation: Mindcrime banner - releasing a concept album trilogy between 2015 and 2017 - and in May 2026 put out Operation: Mindcrime III, the long-awaited third chapter of the original story.
Geoff Tate released Operation: Mindcrime III on May 3, 2026, an independently distributed concept album telling the Mindcrime story from the villain Dr. X's perspective.
The first single from Operation: Mindcrime III, titled "Power", was released on March 20, 2026, co-written with guitarist Kieran Robertson and co-produced by Disturbed bassist John Moyer.
Tate added 2026 U.S. and UK dates to his ongoing Operation: Mindcrime - The Final Chapter tour, with shows confirmed through at least November 2026.
The Operation: Mindcrime - The Final Chapter U.S. tour launched in March 2025, with Tate performing the 1988 album in its entirety for what he described as the last time.
Tate announced the spring and fall 2025 U.S. legs of the Final Chapter tour in October 2024, with tickets going on general sale on October 4.
