About

Goodnight, Texas is an American folk rock band built around the songwriting partnership of Avi Vinocur (San Francisco, formerly of The Stone Foxes) and Patrick Dyer Wolf (Chapel Hill, NC) - two coasts, one band named after the tiny Texas hamlet that sits exactly between their homes. Their dark, character-driven Americana draws on folk, blues and rock, with banjos and mandolins doing the heavy lifting. The band broke through to a wide audience when their song "The Railroad" opened the first episode of Netflix's Tiger King in 2020, and Metallica later invited them to cover "Of Wolf and Man" for The Metallica Blacklist (2021) - a track the metal legends played over the PA after their own live sets.
