GrooveTrain is a Gothenburg-based soul and funk band with a lineup of 11 musicians - two lead vocalists, four brass players, percussion and a full backline. The band draws from the classic soul traditions of Motown and Philadelphia, and in recent years has also woven in Swedish soul songwriters such as Eric Gadd, Blacknuss and Nisse Landgren. Their sound is known for being both expansive and tight, shifting between high-energy brass-driven grooves and more intimate, heartfelt moments.
GrooveTrain performed at Nefertiti in Gothenburg on January 16, 2026, with guest entertainer Fillip Williams joining the band on stage.
The band opened their 2025 live season with a show in Karlstad together with Comboio at Pitchers.
GrooveTrain co-headlined an evening with Comboio at Musikens Hus in Gothenburg, mixing soul, funk and South American dance music.
