Ian Crichton

About

Ian Crichton is the guitarist and a founding member of Saga, the Canadian progressive rock band he co-founded in Oakville, Ontario in 1977 alongside his brother Jim, vocalist Michael Sadler, drummer Steve Negus and keyboardist Peter Rochon. His staccato phrasing and unison guitar-keyboard lines are central to the Saga sound, heard across albums from the breakthrough Worlds Apart (1981) to the acoustic Symmetry (2021). Beyond Saga, he recorded solo albums and served as guitarist for Asia from 1997 to 1999.
