Ian Lynch is a Dublin-born multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, best known as a founding member of Lankum - the Irish folk group whose 2023 album False Lankum reached #2 on the Irish Albums Chart and earned a Mercury Prize nomination. Alongside his work with Lankum, Lynch runs the solo project One Leg One Eye with electronic musician George Brennan, drawing on black metal, noise, drone and Irish mythology. He holds an MLitt in Irish Folklore and has lectured on traditional music at UCD, and also hosts the long-running radio show Fire Draw Near, dedicated to the Irish traditional song archive.
