Jack Black (born August 28, 1969) is an American actor, comedian, singer and musician who broke through with School of Rock (2003) and has since become one of Hollywood's most recognisable faces across comedy, family and animated films. Outside acting, he co-founded the comedy rock duo Tenacious D with Kyle Gass in 1994 - a band that has won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance and built a devoted global following. His accolades include an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award and three Golden Globe nominations; in 2018 he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
