Jeff Bridges (born December 4, 1949, Los Angeles) is an American actor, singer-songwriter and producer whose screen career spans seven decades. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as the hard-luck country singer Bad Blake in Crazy Heart (2009), and has collected six further Oscar nominations - for films ranging from The Last Picture Show (1971) to Hell or High Water (2016). Beyond acting, he is a genuine musician who performs Americana and country-rock with his band The Abiders, and released his self-titled album on Blue Note in 2011 with producer T Bone Burnett.
Bridges contributed a verse and chorus to 'Men in Bars' on Japanese Breakfast's album For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women), released March 21, 2025.
An album of archival 1978 recordings by Bridges was released on Record Store Day, April 12, 2025.
Bridges told PEOPLE magazine he is doing 'very well' following his 2020 lymphoma diagnosis and subsequent COVID-19 complications during chemotherapy.
Bridges was cast as God in the upcoming comedy film Carnival: At the End of Days.
Bridges received the 2024 Chaplin Award from Film at Lincoln Center, honoring his seven-decade contribution to cinema.
