Jemaine Clement (born 10 January 1974 in Masterton, New Zealand) is an actor, comedian, musician and filmmaker of Maori (Ngati Kahungunu) and Pakeha descent. He is best known as one half of the Grammy-winning comedy duo Flight of the Conchords alongside Bret McKenzie - a partnership that produced two HBO/BBC television series, six Emmy nominations and a Billboard 200 top-3 album. Beyond the Conchords, he co-wrote and co-directed the 2014 mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows with Taika Waititi, which later became a long-running FX series, and has appeared in films ranging from Men in Black 3 to Avatar: The Way of Water and A Minecraft Movie (2025).
