Jennifer Hudson is an American singer, actress, and talk show host from Chicago who became the youngest woman to achieve EGOT status - holding Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards - in 2022. She first caught the public eye on American Idol in 2004, then broke through as Effie White in the film Dreamgirls (2006), winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her debut screen performance. Her debut album (2008) won a Grammy for Best R&B Album, and she has since built a parallel career on stage, screen, and television, hosting The Jennifer Hudson Show since 2022.
Hudson joined the producing team for a Broadway revival of Dreamgirls, announced in February 2026.
