American singer-songwriter Jesca Hoop performs her seventh album Long Wave Home at Mejeriet. An artist who has worked with top producers and developed her own distinctive sound.
Jesca Hoop (born 1975, Santa Rosa, California) is an American singer-songwriter now based in Manchester, England, whose music weaves together folk, art-pop and indie into a sound that resists easy categorisation. She came to wider attention after working as a nanny for Tom Waits, who championed her early work, and has since released seven solo albums - most recently Long Wave Home (2026), the first she produced entirely herself. Her 2019 album Stonechild reached #1 on the UK Official Independent Album Breakers Chart, and she has collaborated with artists ranging from Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) to Peter Gabriel.
Jesca Hoop released Long Wave Home (May 1, 2026 via Last Laugh / Republic of Music), her seventh solo album and the first she produced entirely herself.
Hoop launched an extensive multi-continent tour in support of Long Wave Home, covering the UK in May, North America in June-July, and Europe in September.
The album's lead single 'Designer Citizen' was shared alongside a music video directed by James Slater when the record was announced in February 2026.
Hoop contributed to the 2025 collaborative EP The Songs of Joni Mitchell Vol. 1, covering 'Morning Morgantown' alongside Kate Stables and Lail Arad.
Hoop appeared on the 2025 tribute compilation Sandworms: The Songs of Howe Gelb and Giant Sand, covering 'But I Did Not' alongside John Parish.
