Jesse Eisenberg (born October 5, 1983) is an American actor, screenwriter and film director who first broke through with The Social Network (2010), playing Mark Zuckerberg opposite a David Fincher script - a role that earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He has since built a parallel career behind the camera: his 2024 comedy-drama A Real Pain, which he wrote, directed and starred in alongside Kieran Culkin, won Culkin the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and earned Eisenberg his second Oscar nomination, this time for Best Original Screenplay.
Eisenberg is set to participate in The 24 Hour Musicals event in New York, creating and performing new short musicals in a single day.
Eisenberg headlined a live dramatic reading of Sophocles' Oedipus the King at Georgetown's Gaston Hall alongside Dr. Anthony Fauci.
A trailer for Eisenberg's third directorial feature, The Debut - a musical comedy starring Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti, distributed by A24 - was released.
Now You See Me: Now You Don't, in which Eisenberg reprises his role as J. Daniel Atlas, was released theatrically and grossed over $238 million worldwide.
Eisenberg was granted Polish citizenship by President Andrzej Duda at a ceremony in New York, days after A Real Pain won Kieran Culkin an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
