Jim Gilmour is a Scottish-born, Canada-raised keyboardist and vocalist who joined the progressive rock band Saga in 1979, debuting on the album Silent Knight. He has been a core part of the band's sound across decades of recording and touring, contributing to landmark albums such as Worlds Apart and Beyond Illusion, and also released solo material including the instrumental album Great Escape.
Saga announced 'Saga 50 - 1977-2027: The Generations Tour', a world tour planned for 2027 to mark the band's 50th anniversary, with Jim Gilmour in the core lineup.
Saga confirmed a return to live performances in 2026 with selected Canadian dates, with Gilmour rejoining frontman Michael Sadler and guitarist Ian Crichton in the core lineup.
Saga's 2026 touring lineup was updated, with Mike Borkosky returning on bass and Dusty Chesterfield departing the band.
