John Legend (born John Roger Stephens, December 28, 1978, in Springfield, Ohio) is an American singer-songwriter, pianist and producer whose debut album Get Lifted (2004) launched him to international fame. He holds 13 Grammy Awards and is the first Black man to achieve EGOT status - earning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony - completing the set in 2018 as a producer of NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. Over a career spanning ten studio albums, he has sold more than 10 million albums in the United States alone.
