Kid Francescoli is the electropop project of Marseille-based musician Mathieu Hocine, founded in 2002 and named after Uruguayan football legend Enzo Francescoli. The project gained wide recognition with the 2017 album Play Me Again and its track 'Moon', which went viral on Instagram Reels and TikTok - partly through shares by Jennifer Lopez and Lizzo - and was featured in season one of Netflix's Emily in Paris. Tracks including 'Nopalitos' and 'Blow Up' have earned Gold, Platinum and Diamond certifications, contributing to hundreds of millions of streams.
Kid Francescoli announced his seventh studio album A Kind Wave, due October 9 via All Night Long / Believe France, and released the single 'City of Gold' featuring Nigerian singer Demigod.
An extensive European headline tour for autumn 2026 was announced, running from London on October 14 through Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona and Paris, closing in Marseille on December 5.
A Kind Wave was produced with Robin Coudert (Rob), known as live keyboardist and producer for Phoenix, marking a new creative collaboration.
Kid Francescoli released the EP Initio in 2025, continuing to explore themes of love, travel and memory.
The album's third single 'Don't Get On The Plane', featuring regular collaborator Andréa Durand, was announced for release on September 9.
