Klamydia von Karma is the drag persona of Anis Meschichi, a Franco-Tunisian cell biologist and postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zürich. Born in Paris and raised in southern France, Meschichi built the character in Uppsala's alternative underground scene from 2018 onward, developing a style that fuses absurdist performance with melancholia. In 2023 they won both the Heaven Drag Race and Drag Roy-LÄLLE-ty in Zürich, and have since performed and hosted queer events across Europe - France, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Sweden. In early 2025 Klamydia stepped onto the main stage of Schauspielhaus Zürich in Bastian Kraft's production "Die kleine Meerjungfrau", a co-production with Thalia Theater Hamburg that received standing ovations and wide critical acclaim.
