Lars Jansson (born 1951, Örebro) is a Swedish jazz pianist, composer and educator whose lyrical, melodic style sits firmly in the Nordic jazz tradition. His trio has been one of Scandinavia's most celebrated jazz ensembles for decades, and the group has toured extensively in Europe and Japan. In 1998 he became Denmark's first jazz professor, based in Aarhus, and in 2001 he received a Danish Grammy for the album Hope. In 2022 the Royal Swedish Academy of Music awarded him its Jazz Prize for his contribution as a pianist, composer and renewer of the piano trio format.
