Manon is an opera in five acts by Jules Massenet, first performed in Paris in 1884. The libretto draws on abbé Prévost's novel about the young Manon Lescaut, torn between love and the temptations of wealth. It remains one of the most frequently staged works in the French operatic repertoire.
