Matriarkören is a feminist punk collective from Västgötaslätten, Skaraborg, founded in 2022 by Sheriin Emanuelsson. With around 20 members, they bill themselves as Skaraborg's largest band - and operate simultaneously as a punk act, a music collective and a political lobby group. Their debut single-EP "Folket är vi" came out in 2022.
Matriarkören announced a debut-EP release party at Lokstallet in Skövde in February 2026, their first show at the new venue.
Founder Sheriin Emanuelsson stated the band aims to lead the way in a genre that has always been male-dominated.
Matriarkören performed at the Fragile Mountain punk festival on 9 August.
Matriarkören played the Punkfest event in Falköping alongside Troublemakers, Blisterhead and Pastoratet.
