About

Max Raabe (born December 1962 in Lünen) is a German baritone singer and founder of the Berlin-based Palast Orchester, which he established in 1986 while studying at the Berlin University of the Arts. The ensemble specialises in German dance and film music of the 1920s and 1930s, performed with dry wit and precise elegance. Raabe broke through to wider audiences with the 1992 hit 'Kein Schwein ruft mich an' and later with his own pop songs - a style sometimes called 'Raabe Pop' - as well as through the TV series Babylon Berlin, whose fourth season featured his song 'Ein Tag wie Gold'.
