Morgan Ågren (born 1967, Umeå) is a Swedish drummer and Grammy winner whose technical command of odd meters and polyrhythms has made him one of the most respected figures in progressive jazz-fusion. He has played alongside Mats Öberg in the Mats/Morgan Band since 1981, and his international profile was cemented when Frank Zappa invited the duo to collaborate in 1988 - leading to the Grammy-winning 'Zappa's Universe' project in 1994. Beyond Mats/Morgan, he has recorded with Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah), Devin Townsend, Steve Vai, Squarepusher and many others, and has been a member of the Swedish prog band Kaipa since 2002.
