Icelandic electronic music group múm performs at Hotel Cecil in Lund.
múm (pronounced "moom") is an Icelandic experimental pop collective founded in Reykjavík in 1997 by Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, later joined by classically trained twin sisters Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir. Their sound weaves glitchy electronics, acoustic instruments and delicate vocals into something that sits between folktronica and chamber pop. After a 12-year gap, the band returned in September 2025 with their seventh album *History of Silence* on Morr Music, recorded across studios in Reykjavík, Berlin, Helsinki, Athens, southern Italy and New York.
múm released their seventh studio album *History of Silence* on Morr Music on 19 September 2025, their first full-length since *Smilewound* in 2013.
The band undertook a North American tour in September-October 2025 spanning 16 cities from Philadelphia to Los Angeles.
Lead single "Mild at Heart" was released on 18 June 2025, accompanied by the album and tour announcement.
Second single "Only Songbirds Have a Sweet Tooth" was released on 16 July 2025.
*History of Silence* was recorded across multiple cities internationally, including Reykjavík, Berlin, Helsinki, Athens, southern Italy and New York.
