Sångsällskapet Orphei Drängar (OD) is a Swedish male voice choir founded in Uppsala on 30 October 1853, closely tied to Uppsala University. Around 80 singers strong, the choir has built a reputation spanning classical a cappella, folk song and contemporary commissions, and has performed across Europe, Japan and beyond. Since 2008 the choir has been led by conductor Cecilia Rydinger, with Folke Alin as deputy conductor.
OD released a recording of Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem, taped at Uppenbarelsekyrkan in Hägersten on 8 February 2026 under conductor Cecilia Rydinger.
OD toured Åland in June 2025, performing two concerts at Alandica in Mariehamn on 14 June and visiting churches across the archipelago on 15 June.
OD's Spring Concert 2025 featured bass-baritone Erik Rosenius as soloist, including a world premiere by composer Benjamin Staern.
OD performed a five-city Brahms Requiem tour in October 2024, with stops in Uppsala, Gothenburg, Oslo, Karlstad and Stockholm.
OD was invited to perform Shostakovich's Symphony No. 13 'Babi Yar' in Tokyo and Osaka in January 2024.
