Parsifal is Richard Wagner's final opera, premiered in Bayreuth in 1882. Based on the medieval legend of the Holy Grail, it follows the young Parsifal's path toward spiritual understanding. The work is known for its slow, ceremonial music and runs among the longest in the standard repertoire.
