Robert Pattinson (born 13 May 1986, London) is an English actor who broke through as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) before reaching global fame as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga (2008-2012). Since then he has built a second career in auteur cinema - working with directors such as the Safdie Brothers, Robert Eggers, Claire Denis and Christopher Nolan - while also headlining the DC blockbuster The Batman (2022), which grossed over $772 million worldwide. He is consistently ranked among the highest-paid actors in Hollywood.
Pattinson appeared as Antinous in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, set for release on 17 July 2026 with an all-star cast including Matt Damon, Zendaya and Tom Holland.
The Batman Part II began pre-production with Pattinson reprising his role as Bruce Wayne; the film is scheduled for release on 1 October 2027.
Pattinson wrapped filming on Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three, in which he is rumoured to play the antagonist Scytale; the film is slated for 18 December 2026.
Die My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay and co-starring Jennifer Lawrence, opened in US cinemas on 7 November 2025 after premiering in competition at Cannes, where it was nominated for the Palme d'Or.
