Stjärnjul - a Cascade of Christmas Magic and Show
Stockholm's classic Christmas tradition featuring star performers, a large choir ensemble and orchestra presenting Christmas classics, gospel and show.
Rönninge Show Chorus is an all-female a cappella and barbershop chorus based in Rönninge, Salem Municipality, just south of Stockholm. Founded in 1983 by Britt-Helene Bonnedahl and now directed by Anna Alvring, the choir has grown to around 100-155 members and is affiliated with Sweet Adelines International. The chorus has won the SAI International Chorus Championship three times - in 2013, 2016 and 2019 - and has never placed lower than 6th in the world at that competition. Each December they co-produce the Stjärnjul Christmas show, a Stockholm tradition since 1993 that has drawn over 200,000 visitors in total.
Stjärnjul 2025 took place at Filadelfia Convention Center in Stockholm on 12-14 December, featuring the 180-voice Stjärnjul Choir alongside guest artists including West End star Lucie Jones and Norwegian tenor Kjetil Støa.
Rönninge Show Chorus competed at the Nordic Barbershop Championships in Karlstad, 16-18 May 2025, preceded by a public preview concert in Rönninge on 6 May.
The chorus was selected to perform at the Swedish Choir Association's 100th anniversary concert on 7 June 2025, held on the main stage in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm.
The 29th edition of Stjärnjul was held on 15-16 December 2023, with guest artists Kerry Ellis and Andreas Johnsson alongside the 14-piece Stjärnjul Orchestra.
Rönninge Show Chorus held a 40th anniversary concert at Musikaliska in Stockholm on 4 October 2023, featuring guest artists Growing Girls and a retrospective programme spanning the choir's history.
