Rostam Batmanglij, who records as Rostam, is an American musician, producer and songwriter of Iranian descent, raised in Washington D.C. He co-founded Vampire Weekend and produced the band's first three albums, including the Grammy-winning Modern Vampires of the City. As a solo artist he has released three albums - Half-Light (2017), Changephobia (2021) and American Stories (2026) - while building a parallel career as one of indie and pop's most sought-after producers, working with Frank Ocean, HAIM, Clairo, Charli XCX and many others.
