About

Ruts DC are an English punk band from West London, originally formed in 1977 as The Ruts. Their 1979 single "Babylon's Burning" reached #7 on the UK charts, and the debut album The Crack blended punk with reggae and dub in a way that set them apart from most of their contemporaries. After singer Malcolm Owen died in July 1980, the surviving members - bassist John "Segs" Jennings, drummer Dave Ruffy and guitarist Paul Fox - continued as Ruts DC until 1983, then reformed in 2007 with new guitarist Leigh Heggarty.
