Sissel Kyrkjebø (born 1969 in Bergen) is a Norwegian soprano whose voice spans folk, classical crossover and operatic pop. She shot to national fame at 16 with her debut album and went on to perform the Olympic Hymn at the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics; she is also heard on the Titanic film soundtrack (1997), one of the best-selling soundtracks in history. Her solo catalogue has sold 10 million copies, and her Christmas album Strålande Jul went 11 times platinum in Norway - a record shared with only one other Norwegian artist.
