About

Sixpence None the Richer is an American alternative rock band formed in the early 1990s in New Braunfels, Texas, by guitarist Matt Slocum and vocalist Leigh Nash, who met at a church retreat. Their 1997 self-titled album broke them into the mainstream via the single "Kiss Me", which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify. The band's name comes from a passage in C. S. Lewis's book Mere Christianity. After disbanding in 2004 and reuniting in 2007, the original lineup - Nash, Slocum, Dale Baker and Justin Cary - came back together fully in 2024, releasing the Rosemary Hill EP and embarking on their first European tour in 2026.
