Les Quatre Cents Coups (The 400 Blows) is François Truffaut's 1959 debut feature and a cornerstone of the French New Wave. The film follows young Antoine Doinel through a troubled adolescence in Paris, drawing heavily on Truffaut's own childhood. It won the Best Director prize at Cannes.
