The Beat from Palookaville is a Stockholm-based ska and R&B band founded in 2007 by guitarist Anders Lewén, previously known from Knock-Out Greg & Blue Weather and the Sven Zetterberg Bluesband. The band blends ska, jump blues, soul and Caribbean rhythms into a high-energy live act fronted by vocalist Tommy 'BigT' Moberg. They have backed artists including Sven Zetterberg, Elin Ruth Sigvardsson, Magnus Carlson and Moneybrother, and released records on Sweden's Enviken Records and Spain's Sleazy Records.
The Beat from Palookaville was listed as a performing act on Blidosundsbolaget's 2025 artist programme.
The band performed at Stampen in Stockholm, billed as returning to the venue where they started 17 years earlier.
The band played Kulturoasen in Uppsala on 21 April 2024.
The band was announced for a joint concert with The Love Gangsters at Musikhuset Gävle.
The band's Facebook page marked 13 years since their Spanish debut at Rockin Race Jamboree in Torremolinos.
